letter: Fandom Growth Exchange 2015

Dear Author/Artist,

First of all, thank you for writing fic/making art for me!

I'll list my likes and dislikes and try to write specific prompts, but don't feel pressured to write/make anything if it's just not your style or my prompts don't inspire you. But please try to watch out for my trigger and dislikes. Despite my long letter, I'm not picky or hard to please. :) And don't worry about what we're matched on, I chose my ships carefully, I love every one of them. I'm not partial to fics either, despite my art prompts being just general prompts and not ship specific, I love fanart! :) I'm angelette on AO3.

[General likes] [General dislikes] [For sex scenes] [For art]
[Sleepy Hollow] [The 100] [Stitchers] [The Moth Diaries (book)] [Portero Universe] [Pure Trilogy] [Jupiter Ascending] [Like Minds] [House of Mystery] [OUAT in Wonderland]

My general likes:
  • focus on relationships and character-driven stories (so character and relationship studies are more than welcome :))
  • casefic (undercover as a couple is always a good choice :D)
  • banter, snark, humor
  • what-if AUs (role reversal, or any little thing happening differently and changing a whole lot of things) and on this note multiple universes, meeting with mirror selves
  • time travel, Groundhog day AU/time loop
  • dystopian/post-apocalyptic AUs
  • hurt/comfort, angst - especially dealing with the traumas, broken people finding/healing themselves with the help of others.
  • darker and edgier than the canon - I unashamedly love everything dark, twisted and depressive. I realize it's not for everyone but if you happen to be one of the people who can write dark things, then you can write your most disturbing story idea, and I'll eat that up with a spoon.
  • things that are okay with me: bittersweet or unhappy endings, tragedy, major character death, suicide, deathfic, torture, rape, brainwashing, Stockholm syndrome, detailed scenes of blood, horror and violence (for action scenes or whatnot). I like when my favorites are suffering and even if I do want some romantic/shippy happenings, happy ending isn't required.
  • also if you like to write crossovers, then by all means, cross over any of my requested fandoms.
Also, any rating is fine, I'm okay with G rated emotional things or explicit sex scenes, I love plotty fic, character studies and PWP just the same. I like dark things but it's not required! I know from this detailed list it seems I'm all for suffering and whatnot (:D) but please don't worry, I know I requested humorous canons too. :) If your tone is like the canon, I'll love the fic.

My general dislikes:

  • curtain fic, domestic fic
  • kidfic, de-age
  • all human and mundane AUs (barista, band, high school AUs), A/B/O
  • established relationship - I like to see how my ships get together, so flashback, non-linear writing or reminiscing about the past is totally okay, but if there is absolutely no note about how they got together I get a bit frustrated. (Well, obviously, in PWP you don't have to make a big fuss about this. :))
  • first person POV, excluding diary entries, letters, epistolary fic

My trigger:
miscarriage - mentioning is okay, very detailed depiction is not.

For the sex scenes:
This is just for safety if you would like to write explicit sex scenes or PWP. I’m absolutely okay with vanilla sex or no sex in shippy fics; I’m just listing these, because I had wondering authors in past exchanges what I like.
  • bites
  • weapon kink (guns and knives)
  • bondage
  • consent play
  • double penetration (for threesomes)
  • non-con
  • dub-con
  • sex pollen / fuck or die (can be non-con for enemy ships, but I love UST resolving this way with my other ships)
  • mind control
  • voyeurism
  • frottage

For Art:
I adore fanart! Any rating is fine, though I'd prefer something I could use as a wallpaper. But if you happen to have a porny/hot idea, that's also okay with me. Draw/make what you like, but here are some general prompts that fits every ship:
- action scene (monster killing, catching bad guys together)
- hand holding
- cute fluffy things (yeah, art is the exception about my no-fluff rule)
- feeding each other (romantic picnic?)
- 'we need to share a bed and awkward cuddling ensues'
- A pins B to a wall
- longing gazes
- wound treating, lingering touches
- if there's a tie involved: A grabbing B by the tie and pulling B to them

Sleepy Hollow:

What I like about the canon: the world building (I'm a sucker for apocalyptic-prophetic-chosen one stories), the monster hunting, the found family trope.

General prompts for this canon: Anything with curses, love spells, truth spells, monsters feeding on fears, doubts and lust which reveals their feelings. Something that makes it possible for them to see into each other thoughts, walk into each other dreams.

Abbie Mills/Jenny Mills: I like their complicated and co-dependent relationship (that's how I like all of my incest ships, really), so anything dealing with their complex relationship would be welcome.

Ichabod Crane/Nick Hawley: I like their bickering, and how they are so different from each other. But I see Hawley as someone lonely, who really wants to fit somewhere. Considering the finale, how about Ichabod going after Nick - searching for some weapon or just to distract himself from his grief - and doing a road trip? Bonus points if it's in Europe. (I know, the show is Sleepy Hollow-centric, but hey, that's why there is fanfic. :))

Ichabod Crane/Nick Hawley/Abbie Mills & Ichabod Crane/Abbie Mills/Jenny Mills: I love found familes and lonely, slightly broken people finding each other, so I'm all for these threesomes. The general prompts for these canon are welcome here. :)

The 100:

What I like about the canon: the world building (especially in s2, I loved all the different groups of survivors), CLARKE (she's everything I love in a female character, smart, compassionate, but fallible, determined, a little bit broken), the moral dilemmas they have to face to survive

Cage Wallace/Clarke Griffin: It's funny because they barely talked, but somehow the idea of their ship got stuck in my head, especially after seeing parallels between them. Both are trying to save their people and facing unthinkable decisions, which leads Cage to fire the missiles on their camp and (though mostly because of persuasion) Clarke letting them die and not evacuating. And after that Clarke decides to save their own people, damning everyone else in Mount Weather. I'd really like to see some canon divergence AU, where Cage makes it, and meets Clarke. They have to work together and see the other's perspective, forgive - or understand - each other and themselves.

Clarke Griffin/Maya Vie: The first episode of s2 totally sold me this ship, with Clarke pushing  poor Maya against a wall. Yep, that was the spark for this ship. But I'd really would like to see some AU, where Clarke spends more time in Mount Weahter and she and Maya has to work together to escape or to organize a rebellion.

Stitchers:

What I like about the canon: It's my new favorite show, and I know it's silly and campy, but it's nonetheless charming. I love the humor and banter, and of course Kirsten and Cameron and the whole team's dynamic, how they function as a little family. Yeah, I'm sucker for the found family trope, so it's no surprise. Also, I like the residual emotions thing and how they are affecting Kirsten, who has no real concept of emotions. Plus I have a soft spot for characters who had been experimented on as a child, so yeah, I definitely won't say no to playing the trauma card for h/c or just angst and hurt.

Cameron Goodkin/Liam Granger & Kirsten Clark/Cameron Goodkin/Liam Granger: I like how Cameron's jealousy is basically calling Liam's a Greek god and perfect. :D So a bickering, enemy dynamic with grudging appreciation is most welcome between the boys. If you want something lighthearted, how about Liam joining the Stitchers team or Cameron and Liam teaming up to save Kirsten on some mission gone wrong. If you want something more angsty, feel free to explore the 'Liam is a traitor' plotline.

Kirsten Clark/Quincy Fisher/Cameron Goodkin: YAY! These three can push me into the hardcore feels zone anytime. Obviously, I love Kirsten and Cameron's bickering and ahh, how protective Cameron is of her and also how much he trusts her. Fisher, oh, God, Fisher! I'm loving how he saved Cameron's life and Cameron's guilt over that. Also, I enjoyed Cameron's awkward attempts and being overly friendly with Fisher (can I say flirty? :D Or is that just my shipping goggles?) I enjoy Kirsten's foray into feelings and understanding emotions. So prompts! Anything with Cameron's dealing with Fisher's sacrifice (preferably Fisher being alive and Cameron being overprotective of him as well, but I don't say no to angst and mourning), Kirsten dealing with what she saw in Cameron's memories, awkward talks about feelings. Maybe Kirsten has some residual emotion from Cameron and the whole thing is a mess because she doesn't know what she feels? But casefic, banter, unraveling the big mystery behind the Stitchers program is also welcome.

The Moth Diaries - Rachel Klein:
What I like about the canon: It's a modern day-ish retelling of Dracula, and where Stoker's story focused on how people explained away magical happenings with reasonable excuses, it's the exact opposite. I like how it compliments Stoker's work, how our nameless narrator assigns every bad thing/accidents to just one mysterious girl, who might not even exist! Also, I love every kind of interpretation of this book: Personally, I think Ernessa isn't a real person, but more likely the narrator herself - Ernessa can play the piano but better than her, Ernessa's father committed suicide just like hera, in the book they are very similar, and I feel Ernessa is the part of the narrator who wants to act on her sexual/romantic feelings towards Lucy. But! I'm really okay with every kind of explanation, so if you want Ernessa to be a vampire, then go ahead! I'm curious how you interpreted the book. :)

Ernessa Bloch/Narrator: Depending of your interpretation, if Ernessa is a real person, some kind of enemy ship with hate sex, mind games and manipulation. It's just more interesting if Ernessa is indeed the Narrator.

Lucy Blake/Narrator: I'd like to see Lucy's reaction when she finds out our narrator has feelings for her. I know it's never really stated in canon, but it's quite obvious the narrator struggled with her not so straight sexuality.

Portero Universe - Dia Reeves:

What I like about the canon: If anything can sum up my interests, it's this universe. It has everything I love: cartoonish, extreme violence, monster hunting, kickass girls/women, mysterious, small little town, other realms, depiction of traumas (incest, rape, mental illness), also the strong message of familial love - the characters love each other no matter what they do, and Reeves pushes it to the extreme, being the 'what' in these cases murder.

Fancy Cordelle & Kit Cordelle & Hanna Jarvinen: Anything with monster hunting. Or time loops, time travel, multiple universes (it's kind of canon that there are other worlds, but maybe they meet their mirror selves?), actually learning how Portero became this dangerous and magical town.

Pure Trilogy - Julianna Baggott:

What I like about the canon: I love the world building, I'm desperately in love with this cruel world - the different kinds of survivor groups are a big YES to me. So if you want, you can explore more of the world, more of Europe or whatever, feel free! I also liked the fairy tale or folklore story feel of this book, especially the tale of the swan as a clue, so a fairy tale retelling AU is more than welcome here. I like all of the POV characters, especially the women! Ahh, and I like all the misery and pain here, so many hurt/comfort, angst potential!

El Capitan/Pressia Belze: Pressia finds solace in El Capitan - road trip, world exploring or they're the new leaders.
Pressia Belze/Partridge Willux: Canon divergence AU where they fall in love before they realize they are siblings. Or Partridge survives and he has to run away from the angry Pures, so they go on a road trip. Or Partridge dies, but his clone finds Pressia - the more disturbing the better.

Jupiter Ascending:

What I like about the canon: I'm not really into anything space, but this movie was so much fun! It's one of my comfort movies, it's over the top and campy and I'm liking it this way. Reincarnation! Space princesses! Space DRAGONS! (I am so into dragons.) But actually I'm interested in the world building too, vague as it were, and the whole reincarnation thing, also the dysfunctional dynamic of the Abrasax family.

Balem Abrasax/Kalique Abrasax/Titus Abrasax/Jupiter Jones & Kalique Abrasax/Jupiter Jones: I am just fascinated with the Abrasax family and their fucked up dynamics, so really anything. They sure like to manipulate each other and play mind games and being rivals, but in some weird way they need each other. But a few prompts: Messy political arranged marriages, AUs where the siblings get to keep and groom Jupiter. Bonus point if Jupiter starts to remember her past life. Fucked up things, dub-con, Stockholm syndrome are encouraged here.

Like Minds | Murderous Intent:

What I like about the canon: I have a morbid interest in all the dark things a human is capable of, so this movie was perfect for me. All the mind-games, the creepiness, the obsessiveness, the brainwashing slowly someone with the help of some mythological tale.

Alex Forbes/Nigel Colby: Though the movie was perfect as it is, I'd like to see more interaction between them. Maybe a few filler scenes, we just know Alex is obsessed with Nigel, but how exactly? More mind games are welcome. Also, I know there are debates about what was true of Alex's story and I welcome any interpretation, but my take on it that it could be Alex who planted the whole Templar Knights myth and obsession? So everything that Alex said was technically true, but he omitted his mind games on Nigel - these scenes would be most welcome.

House of Mystery:

What I like about the canon: It's a morbid, horror, fantasy comic. I'm sucker for the living house trope, and I just love Fig, who's cynic, has daddy issues and is/was suicidal. From the side characters I adore Cain (especially Cain and Fig's banter about rules, Cain and Abel's complex relationship and of course, Gigi.)

Bethany "Fig" Keele/William "Strawberry" Keele: Missing scenes from their childhood, how Strawberry dealt with the time being alone before he found Fig again. Strawberry being overprotective and obsessive about his sister. Or a fix-it AU for the end, where Fig isn't living with a copy of Harry, but Strawberry.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland:

What I like about the canon: Every character had a fucked up, dysfunctional family! Will and Alice's banter and relationship. Anastasia's redemption arc. Everybody just wants to be loved and accepted.

Alice/Anastasia & Alice/Will/Anastasia: I just love their dynamic and how they complete each other. Any kind of AU where they're battling against Jafar. Maybe Alice and Anastasia has to team up to rescue Will and finding about each other's feelings, also falling for each other. Or continue from the end of the show with some new adventures, whatever you like.

Alice/Jafar: I know the show hasn't offered that much on this ship, but I loved that both Alice and Jafar have daddy issues, that Alice could understand Jafar, and the scene in the finale when Jafar threatens to wipe Alice's memory of Cyrus, I wanted to see something similar to the effect of what Jafar did to Anastasia. So you could write a what-if AU about that, or I could totally picture Jafar getting a similar redemption story like Cyrus, now that he's a genie, so I could see Alice being the master of genie!Jafar.
